Another real star is shining up above in the sky

Dixie Carter passed away today at the age of 70 ...

I grew up in the sixties ... in front of a TV set ...
and like the children of today that
can't live without their computers, and that think of it
as the most natural thing in the World,
so did I in regard to a TV set. And as time went by,
I lived my life making my favorite TV shows a part of my life.
A part of myself. As a child I watched Bewitched
and I Dream of Jeannie ... and Lost in Space ...
and Get Smart ...
Later on, in the 70's it was The Mary Tyler Moore Show
and The Love Boat ... and so many others ...
And then came the 80's ... and with it, two shows
that made me forget the troubles and get happy :
'' The Golden Girls'' and ''Designing Women''.
And that's why I can't avoid feeling helplessly sad
for the premature loss of my beloved idol Dixie Carter.
I feel sad the same way I felt when Elizabeth Montgomery ...
and Estelle Getty ...
and Bea Arthur
passed away.
Another one of my idols is gone ...
Another one of my idols became a real star ...
high up above ...

Thank you Dixie for making me happy
for at least half an hour a week ...
For making me laugh not at you,
but with you ...
